SBT announced that The Voice Brasil will debut on Sunday at 18h, moving from its previous schedule. The shift is intended to test presenter Tiago Leifert in the network's Sunday ratings battle. Sunday programming is a strong point for SBT, with long‑running shows such as Domingo Legal, presented by Celso Portiolli, and Programa Silvio Santos, hosted by Patrícia Abravanel, often securing second place and occasionally the lead in audience share. The broadcaster has praised Leifert’s recent work narrating Champions League matches and the 2026 World Cup, as well as his performance on “Torcida SBT” during Brazil national team games. By placing The Voice in the 18h slot, SBT aims to gauge Leifert’s ability to attract viewers in the crucial early‑evening window. If the experiment yields positive ratings, the presenter could become a permanent fixture on Sundays. The decision also serves as a preemptive response to reports that Globo considered hiring Leifert. The reality show is scheduled to premiere on 27 September, with the announcement made during the São Paulo × Boca Juniors match of the Copa Sudamericana.
